Peer Review

Jack Dawson, the main character falls in love with the storyteller of the Titanic, Rose. With Rose in the need of financial support she is forced to marry Caledon, who has the financial support she needs. When Jack saves Rose from committing suicide, Jack is invited to dinner with her soon to be family. He noticed her circumstances and shows her what real love is, even if they have to face the ridiculed society of upper-class against lower-class.

James’s thought reasoning for the performance was to show how much love had an impact on peoples’ behavior and decision-making skills. He also thought this film was made to show the structure of the society in the 1900s. He further explains that Cameron, the director does a great job of accomplishing these goals for the movie.

I like the way James use of structuring his review with the director’s background, then the contextual background and the overview of the film within his opinion. I think it would have been better to give a full overview of the movie so the reader knows exactly what is going on throughout the movie, opinionating the performance later. To me, this structure works if the Titanic has been seen by the reader before reading this review.
